Why we Do It
We need more affordable housing in Portland, but that won’t happen overnight. In the meantime, our unhoused neighbors have real needs that we each one of us in the community can help meet.
We operate on the principle of direct support & solidarity not charity.
Who We Are
Inspired by the mutual aid groups that sprang up as a response to the pandemic and food insecurity, we realized that we were in the right location to help our unhoused neighbors.
We packed up our backpacks with supplies and began asking people what we could help with. Sometimes people need food, socks , hand warmers, or just to be heard or listened to.
Originally we started on Tuesdays, but eventually moved to Wednesdays to bridge the gap in services our neighbors might experience throughout the week.
